James Emerick, 71, of Vero Beach, passed away on Dec. 25, 2014, at his residence.
He is survived by two sons, Russ Emerick of Vero Beach and Scott Emerick of Tennessee; and one granddaughter, Loren Emerick of Vero Beach.
He was born Aug. 26, 1943, in Rock Island, Ill., and had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1960, coming from Estes Park, Colo.
Emerick was a veteran of the US Navy serving in Vietnam.
He retired as a mechanical superintendent working with nuclear devices.
Emerick was a member of United Union Association Local 725, Miami.; VFW, American Legion and a member of Tabernacle Church of Vero Beach.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home with a service to be held at 7 p.m. with Pastor David Foster, of Tabernacle Baptist Church, officiating.
