David A. Rustine, 62, Vero Beach

David A. Rustine, 62, of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully on Dec. 29, 2014, at home surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Dr. Rebecca Rustine; son Benjaman (Jackie) Rustine; daughter Andrea (Geoffrey) Brennan; stepson Mark (Chris) Hennicke; and grandsons Evan Hennicke and Samuel Brennan.

Rustine was born in Binghamton, N.Y. to the late Jack and Agnes Rustine. He formed Crown companies developing commercial and residential projects from Boca Raton to Vero Beach. One of his most significant accomplishments was restoring the AMI building in Boca Raton after the anthrax attack. He not only had vision but the fortitude, knowledge, and unstoppable optimism to see his projects through. His entrepreneurial spirit included many diverse and creative business interests outside of real estate.

Friends and business associates have been sharing sentiments of the profound impact he had on many lives. His love, wisdom, and generosity will be missed. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, 1950 20th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
