Ann Borlas, 95, of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully at the VNA Hospice of Vero Beach, surrounded by her family on Dec. 25, 2014.
She is survived by her children Yvette Knight and (Frank) of New Gloucester, Maine, Anita Quire (Kenneth) of Newport, Mich., Eric Borlas of Boca Raton, and Craig Borlas and partner Charlotte Morris of Sebastian; her grandchildren Monica, Veronica, Jessica, Rebecca, Tony, Kevin, Austin, Christopher and Danielle; and her great-grandchildren Emily, Charlotte, Jack, Justine, Jacqueline, Sarah and Jake.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 31 years, John Borlas, and sisters Clara Champommier and Georgette James and brothers Andre, Arsene and Louis Vallangeon.
She was born on June 16, 1919, in Belgium, Ill., the last of six children of Claude and Mathilde Vallangeon. She grew up in Illinois, raised a family while living in Michigan and retired to Florida for the remainder of her life. She loved to crochet, draw, garden, play her organ and was known to burst into song at any time.
Arrangements are by All County Funeral Home. A graveside Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Ferndale Cemetery in Riverview, Mich., where Borlas will be interred beside her husband. Memorial donations may be made to VNA Hospice House, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
