Jeanne Coady, 78, Vero Beach

Jeanne Coady, 78, of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 25, 2014, after a brave battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Coady) Gonzalez, of Oakdale, Conn.; two grandchildren, Monica (Gonzalez) Kerby of Los Angeles and Bianca Gonzalez of Oakdale; sister, Valerie Martin of Griswold, Conn., and a brother, Allan Trudeau of S.C.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Clifford Coady, III and William Coady, a granddaughter, Alycia Gonzalez, and a brother, John Trudeau, Jr.

She was born Sept. 12, 1936, to the late John and Viola (Jarvis) Trudeau in Jewett City, Conn. On Oct. 12, 1957, she married the late Cliff Coady, Jr. in Norwich, Conn. Coady graduated from the William W. Backus School of Nursing in 1957, where she spent a career lovingly caring for patients in hospitals and nursing homes. She retired in 1993 to spend the next several years traveling with her beloved husband until his death in 2002.

After his death, Coady became active in volunteering for many animal causes until her health kept her from doing so.

Despite many losses in her life, she will be remembered for her generous and loving heart and her joyful laugh, which she carried with her until the very end. Her strength in life is to be admired.

A memorial celebration will be held at Coady’s home on Jan. 10 at 1 p.m. Inurnment in Connecticut will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the ASCPA, as Coady was an avid animal lover. She will be especially missed by her fur baby, Chipper.

Her family wishes to extend a special thank you to A Moment’s Notice Health Care, especially Dwayne, Elizabeth, and Paula, who became her extended family during her illness.
