Hubert Mitchell, 89, of Vero Beach, passed away on Dec. 25, 2014, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
He is survived by his sons Lance Mitchell of Herndon, Va., and Hubert Mitchell, II of Fairfax, Va; daughters Tracy Mitchell of Vero Beach, and Debra Mitchell Sparks of Charlotte, N.C.; and brother, Robert Mitchell of San Diego, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Lillian.
Born in Detroit, Mich., Hubert lived in Vero Beach for 19 years coming from Chevy Chase, Md.
Mitchell served in the Marines during World War II. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and practiced law in the Washington, DC area.
He was a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court, the Vero Beach Museum of Art, and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach. He was also an avid reader.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach, FL. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to Aycock Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
