Rangers give moonlight kayak, canoe tours in Sebastian

SEBASTIAN — Join knowledgeable Rangers for a guided kayak/canoe sunset and moonlight tour from Campbell’s Cove near the Sebastian Inlet. Learn about the Indian River Lagoon and the plants and animals that call it home.

Participants can bring their own kayak or reserve one from the Inlet Marina for a rental fee of $20 for two hours, for a single or double watercraft, life jacket(s) and paddles included. Personal watercraft pay a launch fee of $3.

Participants will need to bring two Cyalume light sticks to be used on each vessel that participates, or purchase them at the Inlet Marina. Participants meet one mile north of the Sebastian Inlet, turn west at the large brown state park sign and follow the dirt road to the Inlet Marina. Program status is dependent on weather conditions so please call ahead to verify status.

Tours are scheduled for Jan. 5, Feb. 4 and March 5 from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Inlet Marina, 9502 South Highway A1A, Melbourne Beach.
