VERO BEACH — The Patio Seafood Tavern is on target to open New Year’s Eve, as planned.
“We have received all our permitting and licenses and have assembled an amazing team,” said Bill Brown, the new proprietor.
Brown confirmed they will indeed be open for New Year’s Eve, with a reservation only event.
“It has been amazing, as we are interviewing, cleaning and testing meals,” Brown said. “Folks just keep walking in and asking to put their name on a wait list in hopes that we hit our goal of a New Year’s Eve opening.”
He is still unsure of the exact amount of guests he will accommodate for the event.
“It all revolves around our level of confidence and our ability to execute,” he said. “If we have 50 guests I will be happy; if we feel more comfortable then maybe 100.”
With his extensive background in dining, “cocina de autor” Brown intends to ensure the guests he hosts are well served.
Gary and the Land Sharks will provide the entertainment on this evening; The Patio Seafood Tavern plans to take their guests through a four course meal and open bar. They will also donate $25 per person to a local children’s hospital in the name of two special children: Ricky Killfeather and Spencer Beckstead.
Brown has announced Priscila Gossett and Lisa Tabor have joined the team. Gossett comes from a background of family owned restaurants in the St. Pete and Melbourne areas.
Tabor was with Long Horn Steakhouse for nine years, where she opened many restaurants for both Rare Hospitality and Darden, before relocating to Florida.
“When I saw the background of Gossett and what she was able to accomplish, plus working in a family run business, I instantly knew she was a perfect fit,” Brown said. “Lisa Tabor, well, when I saw she worked with Rare & Darden, I was intrigued. When we started talking and I explained the Seafood Tavern/New England roots, I quickly found out that Tabor grew up in the next town on the water in Connecticut. She completely understood my vision. It’s been great so far; I have been so lucky to surround myself with great people.”
