Dominick J. LaPenta, 87, of Vero Beach, passed away on Dec. 13, 2014, at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Coyne) LaPenta of Vero Beach; son Warren LaPenta (Sandra); three grandchildren, Sara Holmgren (Michael), Melissa Miller (James), and Amy Stachurski (Stephan); three great-grandchildren Emma, James and Alexander; three brothers, George, Robert and Francis LaPenta; four step-children, Timothy Coyne, Thomas Coyne (Mary Kay), Kathleen Coyne, and Nancy Coyne; and two step-grandchildren, Dillon and Brianna.
He was predeceased by his wife, (1985) Gloria LaPenta along with many siblings.
Born in Woodbridge, LaPenta was a resident until 1989 when he moved to Florida. He honorably served in the United States Navy during World War II later working as an operating engineer for 20 years for Local #825.
LaPenta was a Charter Member and a past Exalted Ruler of the Woodbridge BPOE #2116 and a life member of the Woodbridge VFW Post 4410.
