Henry “Hank” Schubert, 87, of Vero Beach, passed away on Dec. 5, 2014.
He is survived by his sons Eric (Anna) Schubert of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and Mark (Marcia) Schubert of Prescott, Az.; grandchildren Kathleen (Tyler) Keithley and Matthew Schubert; step-children Bonnie (Don) Ramsey and Richard (Louisa) Slaght; three step-grandchildren; his niece Bonnie (William) Stork and nephew Lorin (Debra) Dunn.
He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Anne Schubert who passed away in 1974; his second wife of 33 years, Louise Schubert, and his sister Florence S. Dunn.
Schubert was born in Philadelphia, Penn., and served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II and the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He moved to Miami in 1956 then to Boca Raton in 1964, where he became one of the founding members of Florida Atlantic University, from which he retired after 27 years of service as the Director of Learning Resources.
Following his retirement from Florida Atlantic University, Schubert and Louise lived in Vero Beach where he volunteered as a docent at Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, enjoyed watching the Miami Dolphins, painting, and spending time with those he loved most. Schubert was also an active member of the Community Church of Vero Beach.
