INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 12-year-old boy preparing for a hunting trip with his family was shot in the leg when a shotgun accidentally discharged Monday, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
The boy and another boy aged 10 were preparing for the trip when the gun went off inside a home in the 7900 block of 37th Street.
The 12-year-old was taken to Indian River Medical Center by helicopter where is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, no charges are expected to be filed in this case.
