Joyce Idlette-Littles, 68, of Vero Beach, passed away on Nov. 11, 2014.
She is survived by her spouse of 43 years Willis Littles; her children Nanette Littles, Nena (Christopher) Littles-Rolle, and Nikki Littles; three step-children Willis Littles, Jr., Cynthia Littles, and Troy (Karen) Littles; brothers Joe (Bernice) Idlette, Jr. and Eugene Idlette; sisters Lillie Mae (John) Walker and Gloria Jean Wilson; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, classmates, and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Fannie Mae Idlette Buckner and Josephine Idlette Taylor.
Idlette-Littles was born on April 19, 1946, in Gifford, to the late Joe Nathan Idlette, Sr. and Nancy Beatrice Cookley Idlette. She was the last of seven children.
Idlette-Littles received her secondary education from the Indian River County School System and graduated from Gifford High School in 1964, where she was a member of the cheerleading team. She continued her education at Lincoln Junior College, in Fort Pierce where she majored in business.
On Dec. 4, 1971, she married Willis Littles of Melbourne, and moved to Hollywood, Fla. To this union three daughters were born. After more than 20 years, in 1995, Idlette-Littles returned to her hometown of Gifford. She was employed with the Indian River County Health Department and Senior Life Services, before she retired in 2011. This woman of God was a devoted member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. church.
On, Tuesday, Nov. 11, our Heavenly Father called his child home to rest.
