Robert Leslie Stott, Jr., 84, Vero Beach

Robert Leslie Stott, Jr., 84, of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family at his home on Nov. 10, 2014.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Heidi Bingham Stott; brother Donald B. Stott of Summit, N.J. and North Palm Beach, Fla; sons David of Middletown, N.J. and Lawrence of Bellevue, Wash.; daughters-in-law Micki and Megan; grandchildren Robert II, Sabrina, Zachary, Skylar and Lana; step-children Kathleen Connor, John Fell, Michael Fell and Jeffrey Fell; step-grandchildren Tom Connor, Jr., Caroline Connor, David Fell and Katie Fell.

Stott graduated Taft School 1948 (Cum Laude) and Princeton University 1952. He was senior partner of NYSE specialist firm Wagner Stott & Co, New York, N.Y. and a member of the NYSE for 52 years where he served on the Board of Directors, the Board of Governors, and the Surveillance Committee.

He was a member of the Board of Directors of The Vero Beach Museum of Art and McKee Botanical Gardens. He was also a member of The National Golf Links of America, Piping Rock Club, and John’s Island Club. He was a former member of the vestry of St. Batholomew’s Church and the board of directors of the NY College of Osteopathic Medicine. He served on the co-op boards for 650 Park Avenue, 730 Park Avenue and 960 Fifth Avenue, New York, N.Y. He was a former trustee of Taft School, Watertown, Conn., Eaglebrook School, Deerfield, Mass., and Browning School, New York, N.Y.

Services will be held at The Community Church of Vero Beach, on Nov. 21, 2014. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Vero Beach Museum of Art, 3001 Riverside Park Drive, Vero Beach, FL 32963 or The Community Church of Vero Beach, 1901 23rd Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
