Joan M. Cook, 83, of Sebastian, passed away on Nov. 14, 2014.
She is survived by her children, Debra G.C. Salas of Plantation, Fla., and Elgie H. Cook (Alicia) of Sebastian; grandchildren, Evan H. Cook of Sebastian, Malissa Cook-Hux (Wendy) of Canton, Ga., and Chelsea Cook of Cartersville, Ga.; siblings, Vivian McLaughlin of Waynesville, N.C.
James Morrison, Jr. of Statesville, N.C.; as well as her beloved cats Earlene and Genoa; and her nieces nephews and great-nieces and nephews, all who she adored.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl H Cook on Nov. 1, 1987 and brother, Jack Morrison.
Cook was born Nov. 22, 1930, in Statesville, N.C., to James and Genoa Morrison. She was the youngest of four children.
She married Earl Houston Cook on Sept. 25, 1952 and together they had two children Debra and Elgie.
Visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Strunk Funeral Home, 1623 N. Central Avenue, Sebastian. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Strunk Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Sebastian Cemetery.
