Casey Luncesford appointed Indian River State College Provost of Indian River County

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Charles R. “Casey” Lunceford II, was recently promoted to Provost of Indian River County for Indian River State College (IRSC).

An IRSC employee since 1997, Lunceford will be responsible for leadership of all IRSC programs and activities in Indian River County, including the Mueller Campus and IRSC sites in Sebastian and Fellsmere.

IRSC offers a wide range of educational opportunities in Indian River County, including Bachelor’s Degree programs, Associate in Arts degrees for the first two years of college, Associate in Science degrees for in-demand careers, Quick Job Training, one-stop student services and business support and conference facilities.

“Casey Lunceford brings a wealth of educational experience, creativity and knowledge to this new position, with a sincere commitment to helping each student succeed,” said Dr. Mary Locke, IRSC Vice President of Instructional Services. “He is active in the community, with a deep understanding of the College’s important role in Indian River County.”

A life-long Vero Beach resident, Lunceford attained the rank of Associate Professor of Music at IRSC and served as Director of Instrumental Music for the College for seven years. He was appointed Academic Director of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in 2004 and promoted to Dean of Arts and Sciences in 2006, overseeing the biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics and performing and visual arts departments at the College.

Lunceford holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Music Education. He lives in Vero Beach with his wife, Brenda, and son, Lance.
