Charles A. Palmer, 87, Vero Beach

Charles A. Palmer, 87, of Vero Beach, passed away on Nov. 8, 2014, in Hospice at the Indian River Medical Center.

He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Sutton (Woody) of Vero Beach and Joanne Renz (Rick) of Pottstown, Penn.; grandson David Sutton (Julie) of Omaha, Neb. and granddaughter Leslie Sutton (Mel) of Fremont, Calif.

Palmer was preceded in death by his wife Jean Palmer.

Born and educated in San Diego, Palmer retired to Florida 25 years ago, living in Port Orange before moving to Vero Beach. He previously lived and worked in Philadelphia, after serving his country for 20 years in the US Army.

His passion was playing bridge. A member of Vero Beach Bridge Center, he played in multiple groups around the county.

A Celebration of Life will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach. Arrangements are by Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
