Bruce MacIntyre, 78, of Vero Beach, passed away on Nov. 12, 2014.
He is survived by his four children, Laurie Cope, Heidi MacIntyre, Amy MacIntyre and Boo MacIntyre; grandchildren, David, Dalton, Marquesa, Hunter, Samantha, Heather, Ashley, and Andrew; and sister Sally Merrill.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Jackie.
MacIntyre’s passion for the water and boating began as a child in Marblehead, Mass. His love for the water inspired his travels and adventures from the coast of Maine to the waterways of Florida, the Bahamas and the Caribbean.
In 1973, MacIntyre moved his family from Marblehead to Vero Beach, where he quickly grew roots and established his love for the waters on the Indian River. He introduced and encouraged many to discover and enjoy the beauty and fun of boating which led to him starting The Vero Beach Grady Bunch. The Grady Bunch grew in popularity to the point of becoming common amongst all Grady White dealers and is a tribute to his enthusiasm and leadership.
He loved the Lord, his family, and the many friends that he encountered every day. He was a long time member of Trinity Episcopal Church, an active member and Past President of Rotary Club of Vero Beach and a member of the Vero Beach Yacht Club.
Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Vero Beach. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to either VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach or Trinity Episcopal Church. An online guestbook is available at www.lowtherfuneralhome.com.
