Oak Chase home is loaded with custom upgrades

Many people in Vero Beach are not aware of the lush beauty of the land west of town in the less-developed parts of Indian River County. Of course our beaches are captivating and lovely, but sometimes it is nice to take a ride and experience old Vero. Driving through areas west of town is like going back in time, cruising past idyllic spots protected by the shade of oak hammocks with Spanish moss dripping from thick tree branches.

Much of this area used to be citrus groves and cattle farms. There are a few groves left, such as Petersons, Schacht and Countryside, but other agricultural land has given way to attractive subdivisions like the gated community of Oak Chase, which is located on 66th Ave., about half a mile from the Indian River Mall.

Tucked into a lovely cul-de-sac within the community is this week’s featured home, listed by Bill Lynch of Alex MacWilliam Real Estate for $329,000

Built in 2001, the 3-bedroom, 2-bath, 2,300-square-foot house at 6443 34th Place represents a labor a love, with all kinds of custom upgrades made by the previous owner, a builder/contractor who had his wife in mind when he designed the interior and landscape of this spacious home. He did the work, with his own two hands, a truly wonderful and romantic accomplishment.

“The house is in great shape with many recent custom upgrades that make it a great value,” says Lynch.

The house, in move-in condition and easy to maintain, has been meticulously kept and many improvements and upgrades have been made within the past two years. A new tile roof was installed in 2013, along with a remodel of the master and guest baths. The previous owners had hoped to retire in this home, but received an offer they could not refuse and had to relocate.

An elegant patterned tile path leads to the main entry, gorgeous stained glass front doors that open into the airy living room, highlighted by its vaulted ceilings, Brazilian cherry wood floors, and a stunning view of the pool area. Sliding pocket doors lead out to the screened in pool area, and make the house the perfect spot for indoor to outdoor living all year round.

The flowing open floor plan allows for easy transitions between rooms. The kitchen is conveniently situated between the more formal dining space and the breakfast area overlooking the pool. Remodeled in 2012, the kitchen has a pass-through to the pool area, making it easy and enjoyable to serve guests.

The cherry wood cabinets, quartz counter tops and modern, high-end appliances will impress the cook in any family. The recessed desk area is the perfect meal planning spot, the family command center.

Off the breakfast nook is a den/family room, with a door leading from the breakfast nook to the pool area. The pool area boasts a 10 x 16 bonus room that could easily become a poolside gym, guest house or cabana.

The split layout enhances privacy for families, or for couples who entertain house guests. Children or visitors have their own wing, including two bedrooms and a full bath.

On the other side of the house is the master suite, including a bathroom with a garden tub and walk-in shower. Doors from the master bathroom lead to the pool area.

The backyard is a private, verdant paradise, with a path leading to a fairy tale spot. At the end of the path is a small gazebo, the perfect place for sipping tropical drinks or quietly reading a book.

Close to shopping, restaurants and the beach, this house is located in a private community that is home to families and couples of all ages. The streets are neatly maintained and the houses sit on well-manicured lots.

“It is a great well-maintained house located in a gated community, on a beautiful lot, close to everything,” said Lynch.
