INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 44-year-old man is under arrest after he allegedly charged at his female roommate with a machete, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
Patrick Michael Courser, of the 5700 block of Old Dixie Hwy., north of Vero Beach, is facing a felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after his roommate reported that he was threatening her life.
The victim told authorities she returned to the house after being at a neighbor’s and found a television had been moved from her bedroom to the living room.
After asking Courser about the displacement of the television, his response was “I’m going to kill you,” according to the arrest report.
According to the victim, Courser left the house and returned with a machete and ran at her, holding the machete above his head, while repeatedly telling her that he was going to kill her.
The victim told police Courser threatened her with a knife on a separate occasion a few months ago, but she did not report the incident.
Courser is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond.
