George Russell Anderson, Jr., 59, of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully and quietly, at his home, surrounded by the love of his caring family.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Jeanette Woulard Anderson; daughters, Felice De Souza (Kevin), Kimberly Georgina Anderson, and Crystal Anderson Farmer (Corey); a caring mother, Pearlie Mae Anderson; sisters, Eunice Anderson, Vivian Anderson Britt (Fred), and Beverly Rene’ Wilson (Leonard); brothers, Gary Anderson (Alma) and Dexter Anderson (Cherylle); and a host of nieces, including a special niece, Lakeisha Anderson; nephews, cousins and friends.
Along with his father, he was also preceded in death by a son, Glen Thomas; his grandparents, Mother Ardile Gordon Black, Charlie Battles, Sr. and Dessie Flowers.
He was born in Wabasso, Fla., to the late, George Russell Anderson, Sr. and Pearlie Mae Anderson. “House Man” or “Pokey” as he was affectionately known by his family and close friends, was educated in the public schools of Indian River County, and graduated from Vero Beach High School in the Class of 1973.
Anderson was a member of Gatherers of the Harvest Church in Vero Beach and he was employed as a truck driver for an area construction company.
His devoted wife, Jeanette Woulard Anderson lovingly shared, “My one and only true love. Although you’ll be missed for now, I know that I will see you later. I love you buddy, from your wife, JR.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 7, from 5-7 p.m. at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Wabasso. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Terry L. Stover officiating. Burial will follow at West Wabasso Cemetery in Wabasso.
Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Thorne’s Mortuary in Stuart.
