VERO BEACH — Dual Expressions will run from November 4–29, and will have a special reception on Friday Nov. 7 from 5-8 p.m., to coordinate with the Historic Downtown Arts District First Friday Gallery Stroll.
Working in a large converted garage, the Weltmans have filled their loft like home with an amazing array of contemporary art. Robert Weltman, who counts among his inspirations the works of Rothko, Reinhardt and Kline, specializes in bold hard edge geometrics and expressionistic work on very large canvases; often focusing on the effects of a one color palette.
Shelley Weltman, inspired by Jackson Pollack, uses paint to draw the eye to miniscule dancing drips and throws, creating kaleidoscopes of color. She also experiments with representative based images of sky, water and grasses.
Also on view will be work in watercolor, acrylic, graphite, mixed media, collage, jewelry, photography, ceramics and sculpture, by Gallery 14 partners: Edgardo Abello, Lila Blakeslee, Cheri Cruden, Barbara du Pont, Mary Ann Hall, Barbara Landry, Virginia Knapp, Deborah Morrell Polackwich, Dorothy Napp Schindel and represented artists: Carol Staub, Bryan Beck, Francis Mesaros, Joan Earnhart, Terry Green, Walford Campbell, Viola Pace Knudsen and Emily Heinzel.
Gallery 14, located at 1911 14th Ave. Vero Beach, is open Tuesday and Wednesday 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., Thursday and Friday 11 a.m.-7 p.m. (First Fridays until 8 p.m.), and Saturday 11a.m.–3 p.m.., or by appointment. For further information please call (772) 562-5525 or visit: www.gallery14verobeach.com.
