Donald Scerra, 67, Vero Beach

Donald Scerra, 67, of Vero Beach, passed away on Oct. 27, 2014.

He is survived by his sons Nathan Flint, Michael and Patrick Scerra; four grandchildren, Zachary, Alijah, Silas, and Maia; brother, Louis (Lynne) Scerra; sisters Michele (Stuart) Jenkins, and Celeste Scerra; several nieces, nephews, and many cousins; and his loving companion Patti Seitz.

He was preceded in death by his brother Michael John Scerra.

Scerra was a loving father and devoted friend.

He was born in Gardener, Mass., on July 1, 1947, and the son of the late Farndy and Bertha Scerra.

Scerra was a 1966 graduate of Narragansett Regional High School and attended Mount Wachusett Community College.

He was a United States Air Force Vietnam veteran.

He retired from Digital Comqap, H.P., seven years ago and resided in Vero Beach.

Scerra enjoyed working around his home, golfing, bowling, cooking for family and friends, gardening, riding his motorcycle names Sophia, and helping others.

His main priority in life always remained his family.

He was a member of the V.F.W., The Lions Club, The American Legion, The Templeton Fish and Gun Club. He was a proud Freedom Rider, as well as an escort for The Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall.

Burial will take place at the Veterans Cemetery in Winchendon, Mass., at a later date.
