Willie Brown Sr., 76, of Vero Beach, passed away on Oct. 26, 2014, at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.
He is survived by his wife Irene Brown; sons, Patrick Brown, and Gregory Brown; daughter, Brenda Brown Henderson; brothers, Rev. Samuel Brown, Jr., Sequester Brown, Johnnie M. Brown; sisters, Carrie Pearl McKinney, Ramonia Wallace, Idonia Manning, Mae Belle Johnson, and Wanda Suttles; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Willie Brown Jr.; daughter, Cheryl Ann Knowles; and his parents, Ethel Prince and Samuel Brown.
He was born on Jan. 23, 1938, in Vero Beach, and was a native of Indian River County. Brown was a retired welder from Piper Aircraft.
He was a member of Bible Way Church of God In Christ where he served as Co-Chairman of the Deacon’s Board.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday Oct. 31, at Bibleway Church of God In Christ, 4586 34th Avenue, Vero Beach. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday Nov. 1, at The Church of Christ, 3306 20th Street, Vero Beach. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Fort Pierce.
