Rogene ‘Jean’ Walter, 90, of Vero Beach, passed away on Oct. 27, 2014, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
She is survived by her daughter Deborah Davis; son Leonard Walter (Bobbie); sister Normajeanne Porter; brother Richard P. Smith (Janice); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Leonard, on July 9, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her sister Lois Lane and great-grandson Adam Jacob.
She was born in Galesburg, Ill., and lived in Breezy Village, Sebastian coming from Ft. Lauderdale in 1986 after moving there from Rockford, Ill.
Walter retired as a floor manager and sales associate at JC Penny’s in Fort Lauderdale, after many years of service.
She enjoyed her weekly card games with her friends and was an avid reader and TV game show fan.
The family would like to thank her friends of Breezy Village and the staff and volunteers of VNA Hospice House for their generosity and caring.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Friday Oct. 31, 2014, Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian.
