Janis Barnes Cox, 69, of Vero Beach, passed away on Oct. 11, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She is survived by her daughter Renee Cox Parker (Charlie); son Tony Cox; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister Barbara B. MacWilliam (Robert); brother John S. Barnes (Diane); sister-in-law Jean H. Barnes; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father L.A. Barnes, Sr., mother Willie B. Barnes, and brother L.A. Barnes, Jr.
Cox was born on Dec. 3, 1944, in Charlotte, N.C. and moved to Vero Beach in 1954 with her family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice.
