Mary Thomas, 83, of Vero Beach, passed away on Oct. 11, 2014.
She is survived by her sons John Anthony Rodriguez and David Paul Thomas; daughters Mary Elizabeth Krum Rodriguez and Belinda Rechtenback and Sheila Roseanne Thomas; brothers Gilbert Peunte, Milton Peunte, and Stoney BlackRaven, 28 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack D. Thomas, son Jack D. Thomas, Jr., and daugthers Patricia Thomas and Christina Thomas.
Thomas was a resident of Vero Beach for 52 years coming from Huntington, W.Va. Prior to retirement, she worked as a teacher’s aide and bus driver for Headstart in Vero Beach for more than 20 years.
She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach and a member of the Red Hat Society. Thomas enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and spending time with her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, at St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach. Inurnment will follow at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Aycock Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
