Sebastian Open House for public to comment on All Aboard Florida, Oct. 15

SEBASTIAN — The City of Sebastian is having an Open House at City Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. to discuss issues concerning All Aboard Florida, the high speed passenger rail, and increased freight traffic on the FEC railroad lines.

The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) has been released and the City of Sebastian intends to respond to the 522 page document. A formal response is due by Dec. 5. The City wants to include comments and concerns from the public in the official report.

This is an opportunity to voice opinions. A survey will be provided for the public to fill out, or people may write their own comments. There are no scheduled presentations, so community members are welcome to come and go as they please.

The City Manager, City Attorney, City Engineer, County Attorney, County Historian, CDM representative, and an AAF representative will be available for individual and small group discussions.

Do not miss this opportunity to ask unanswered questions and comment on the project. The City really wants the public’s voice to be acknowledged and heard.
