Robert Nix, 77, of Sebastian, passed away at home Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, with his family by his side, and under the care of VNA Hospice.
Nix is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Barbara; his children Jill Cherry (Larry), Frank Kinelski (Angela) and sons Robert and Howard; grandchildren Brian, Beau, Ricky and Frank; brother Thomas Nix; sister Gloria Amon; and many nieces and nephews.
He was born to the late Edward and Mary Nix, on Aug. 14, 1937, in Staten Island, N.Y.
He retired from the Division of Youth and Family Services State of New Jersey. He was a veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving in the United States Air Force.
He graduated from North Greenville Junior College, Tigerville, S.C. Nix was a member of the American Legion in Sebastian, and also a member of the Moose Lodge #1767 of Sebastian.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church of Sebastian, 1029 Main Street on Oct. 27, including a military honors ceremony.
Seawinds Funeral Home of Sebastian is entrusted with arrangements.
