INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Whole Child Indian River has again received a $1,000 grant from Publix Super Markets Charities. Whole Child will use these funds to support the program’s mission of nurturing and developing thriving children by connecting families to a network of community resources.
Whole Child offers a web-based program designed to give Indian River families better access to community services.
Through the website wholechildirc.org, families can complete a profile to receive a custom report of services specific to their needs, and users can connect to hundreds of local resources. The website is free, easy, confidential and convenient.
Since the website’s launch in February 2012, Whole Child has helped hundreds of families access important resources such as health insurance, emergency services, physicians, community activities and more.
“Whole Child recognizes that we can’t look at needs in isolation. We have to nurture the whole child. Connecting to service providers that meet all the needs of the family is right at parents’ finger tips. Our website provides “one-stop shopping” for services,” said Kelley Williams, Whole Child’s Executive Director.
“The generous support of Publix Super Markets Charities will allow us to further develop the program, identify providers, and make community connections in order and help more families get connected to the resources they need,” said Elizabeth Swann, Junior League President.
