Orchid Island Bikes and Kayaks breast cancer awareness ride Oct. 11

VERO BEACH — Orchid Island Bikes and Kayaks in Vero Beach and the Vero Beach Cycling Club is hosting their 9th annual Breast Cancer Awareness Ride on Oct. 11, to raise awareness for breast cancer prevention, screening, treatment and to help fund a cure.

It is a fun family ride for all ages and abilities with 10-, 25-, and 60-mile ride options.

Sponsors will provide door prizes, goodie bags will be available to all pre-registered riders, refreshments will be provided, and there will be a sweepstakes to win a Trek Bicycle.

The route will be marked and there will be on-route support for the riders.

This is not a race, it’s a casual ride for a great cause.

Registration and check in will be from 7-8 a.m.

The ride courses will open at the following times:

  • 60 mile ride – 7-7:30 a.m.
  • 25 mile ride – 7:30-8 a.m.
  • 10 mile ride – 8–8:30 a.m.

This will not be a mass start ride, riders will be able to check in and go at their leisure during the start time window.

Prizes will be awarded for the pinkest and wackiest costumes and decorations.

For the 6th year, Trek Women proudly supports The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. 100 percent of the ride registration goes directly to this worthy cause.

Online ride registration can be found at www.OrchidIslandbikesandkayaks.com.
