Marjorie Frost McCall, 91, formerly of Vero Beach, passed away on her 91st birthday, Sept. 18, 2014, in Boca Raton where she lived for the past 56 years.
She is survived by her daughter Carol (John) McNally, sons Howard “Buz” (Pat) McCall and Russell (Mary); nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; four nieces and nephews; cousin Joan Bailey; and sister-in-law Betty Ann Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her husband Howard and sister Jean Frost Boyd.
McCall was born in New York City to Alfred and Marjorie Frost. Her father was in the fruit broker business and her family lived in many areas along the eastern seaboard before settling in Vero Beach in the late 1930s.
She graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1941 and attended Florida State College for Women in Tallahassee. She returned home to work at the Naval Air Station where she met Howard and they were married in 1943.
They moved their family to south Florida in the late 1950s and McCall became an active volunteer in her community and for over 25 years was the Archivist for the Boca Raton Historical Society.
The couple traveled extensively throughout the world and shared their passion for adventure, nature and family for 68 years of marriage.
McCall’s life will be celebrated with a Memorial Service and Holy Eucharist on Oct. 11, at 2 p.m. at St Gregory’s Episcopal Church, 100 Mizner Blvd, Boca Raton, FL, 33432. The family requests that remembrances be made in Peggy’s name to the Memorial Fund of St Gregory’s Episcopal Church or to the Boca Raton Historical Society General Fund, 71 N Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL 33432.
