Declaring “We Care to Wear Pink,” runners ran through the raindrops and participated in the third annual Margo Donadio Memorial/Fire Girls 5K Run/Walk at South Beach Park.
The event was organized by the Fire Girls, firefighter wives and active members of Indian River Fire Rescue to help fund the Pink-4-Life Mammogram Assistance Program, which provides mammograms for local uninsured men and women in need.
As an added sweet touch this year, four cute little girls – Addison Gabbard, Keelan Judson, and Emily and Katie Chisholm – handed pink roses to each of the female runners as they crossed the finish line.
