Christene Jordan Morgan, 94, of Gifford, passed away on Sept. 18, 2014.
She is survived by her daughters Calinthia Simmons, Gloria (Donald) Scott, Vera Byrd, Joycelyn (Dan) Darrisaw; son James (Joyce) Morgan; daughters-in-law Lillie Morgan and Constance Morgan; 31 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren; a very dear and devoted nephew and niece Charles Jones and Lola Houston; prayer partners Clara Bryant and Margie McMillon; and many other loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Clyde; children Barbara Standifer, Clyde Jr., Richard, and Celestine Yvette McDougald; and grandsons Richard L. Morgan Jr. and Antoine James.
A memorial service and viewing will be held on Thursday, Sept. 25 from 5-8 p.m. at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, 4221 28th Avenue, Gifford. A funeral service was held at the same location on Friday, Sept. 2 at 1 p.m.
