MACE confiscates motorcycle, pills, marijuana, during raid

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Agency Criminal Enforcement Unit seized a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycleused in the commission of a felony during a search warrant served in the 2000 block of 50th Avenue, according to a press release.

On Friday, Sept. 19, the Sheriff’s Office M.A.C.E. Unit concluded a drug investigation by executing a search warrant Vero Beach, according to authorities.

Shelvick Henry, 37, Richard Mckemy 59, and Alison Owens, 20, all of Vero Beach, were arrested as a result of the investigation, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Henry faces charges of possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and possession of more than twenty grams of marijuana. McKemy faces charges of trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Owens faces a charge of two counts of violation of felony probation.

During the search, detectives located and seized a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle used in the commission of a felony, thirty Dilaudid pills, seven Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) cards in other names, ammunition, and seven hundred and eighty dollars of drug money, according to authorities.

“We are proud of the work our M.A.C.E. Unit does on a daily basis,” said Sheriff Deryl Loar. “In this case, they recovered EBT cards that were meant to feed those in need in our community. Instead, they were in the hands of a drug dealer. We will seize any proceeds from or used in illegal activities.”
