Jacqueline A. Sacco, 71, passed away Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, in Vero Beach.
Sacco was born on Aug. 13, 1943 in Utica, N.Y., to James and Marian Fluty.
She attended Syracuse University where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degree and majored in English and Visual Arts. After finishing college Sacco taught English and Media in the Utica public schools. She was loved and respected by those she taught.
Sacco leaves a legacy of elegance and grace to all who knew her. Family and friends were her highest priority.
She enjoyed splitting her residency between Vero Beach and Little Switzerland, N.C. She traveled the world and made numerous friends and always returned home with batches of pictures, stories and memories. She spent many of the trips with her best friends Joseph and Ermina Polce.
Sacco is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Jerome; brother, James Fluty of Valrico, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Chanatry, Mary Theresa Hartnett, Alta Brown, all of Nashua, N.H., Wendy Sacco of Sauquoit, N.Y., Rita Pucine of Utica, N.Y., Irene Fluty of Valrico, Fla., brother-in-law, Philip Sacco, Sauquoit, N.Y., and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather Girard Griffin; two sisters M. Arlene Wayert, Susan Salsberg and brother-in-law, James Wayert.
A celebration of Sacco’s life will be held at 12 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 25, at St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
