Ellen Johnston of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully in Vero Beach, on Sept. 17, 2014, just a few days before her 59th wedding anniversary.
She was born in Grosse Pointe, Mich., graduated from The Convent of The Sacred Heart School in Grosse Point Farms and Saint Mary’s of The Springs College in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She lived in New York City for a number of years where she worked in the advertising business. She later returned to Grosse Pointe where she raised her family and spent many happy years in the travel business in which she got to see the world.
Johnston was an enthusiastic and expert bridge player. She played nearly every day and won many tournaments. She moved with her husband Forman to Vero Beach in 2007.
She was known for her quick wit, sense of humor, and was fond of amusing stories. She made friends easily everywhere she lived.
She is survived by her husband Forman, and daughters Marguerite and Carolyn. Funeral services were private.
