11 men arrested after fleeing street race scene

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY —Eleven men were arrested this week after authorities responded to a complaint about possible street racing at the 8200 block of 69th Street.

Police responded to the area on Wednesday evening at approximately 6:30 p.m. after receiving a complaint that cars had gathered there for the purpose of street racing.

When authorities arrived, they found “15 vehicles, an ATV and a crowd of people standing in the roadway,” according to the arrest reports.

Once police activated emergency lights, all 15 vehicles moved toward the officers, but only three drivers stopped as they were instructed.

The remaining 11 drivers fled in their respective vehicles west on 69th Street and then south on 82nd Avenue before being cut off by other deputies who were called to assist. Drivers then turned around and continued to head north on 82nd Avenue when they were met by yet another deputy who waved them to the side of the road.

All 11 drivers pulled over.

Each driver was booked into the Indian River County jail and each faces one charge of felony flee and elude. All defendants posted bond and were released.

Kenneth Bristol Jr., 24, of Vero Beach; Brandon Levere Brown, 29, of Daytona Beach; Pervis Brown, 25, of Vero Beach; Johnkeith Lamar Carter, 23, of Vero Beach; Greville Hue Ewar, 36, of Vero Beach; Robert Omie Green Jr., 23, of Vero Beach; Milton George Jaddo, 38, of Vero Beach; Chasmin Corte Jones, 30, of Vero Beach; Willie J. Taylor, 34, Vero Beach; Deangilo Laraye Williams, 25, of Fort Pierce; and Lemonta Rashard Wynn, 22, of Vero Beach.
