VERO BEACH — Jake Owen flew into town last week to share a little brotherly love with his fraternal twin Jarrod and celebrate their joint Aug. 28 birthday. The siblings were joined by friends and family for a private party at The Grove in downtown Vero Beach.
Owen, who lives in the Nashville area now with wife Lacey and daughter Pearl, is still a regular visitor to his beachside hometown of Vero Beach, the inspiration behind some of his best-loved songs. The country singing star has been on a grueling multi-city tour since March, promoting his latest album, Days of Gold, so a little R&R in sleepy Vero was well deserved.
He’ll be back in town Oct. 25 for the eighth annual Jake Owen Foundation Benefit Concert at Historic Dodgertown’s Holman Stadium, the final stop on his headline Days of Gold Tour 2014. His foundation supports local youth organizations, including Autism Speaks and the Mardy Fish Foundation, as well as the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
