Healthy Start’s Giving Closet helps Indian River County families

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The annual Healthy Start’s Giving Closet, presented by the IRC Healthy Start Coalition, took place Saturday Aug. 20 at the Gifford Community Center.

New and used baby, toddler, children’s and maternity clothes, shoes, books and toys were donated by their partner Kidz Closet Charities who donates over 20,000 pieces/items of clothing and goods yearly. A room filled with local clients and their children of Healthy Start Coalition were given two garbage bags per family to fill with clothes sorted by gender and size, and toys, free of charge.

Vero Chem was an in-kind donor.

The mission of the Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition is to offer a broad spectrum of programs to assure every pregnant woman and their young children receive necessary healthcare and support services.
