Ann M. Pellegrino, 101, of Vero Beach, passed away on Aug. 30, 2014, with her family by her side.
She is survived by her son James Pellegrino and daughter-in-law Veronica; three grandchildren Jeff and Jim Pellegrino, and Linda Barmore; eight great-grandchildren Stephen, Alexandra and Samantha Barmore, Jeffrey, James, Juliann, Eric and Ryan Pellegrino; sisters Dorothy Sebastian and Rose Kerr; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Albert Pellegrino, her sister Teresa and nine brothers.
Pellegrino was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and godmother. She lived her life caring for, loving, spending time and helping her family and friends. Her beautiful smile, gentle personality, generous and kind heart were an inspiration to everyone.
She loved and was so proud of her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sports, academic and extracurricular activities. She was also a big-time Boston Red Sox, UCONN Husky Men’s and UCONN Husky Women’s Basketball fan. And, to say she tremendously enjoyed reading, cooking Italian meals for others, gardening in her yard, holiday decorating and playing cards with her friends, would be an understatement.
She volunteered in several civic activities including the Kiwanis Club in Meriden and The Riverside Theatre and Waverly Place Homeowners Association of Vero Beach and was a parish member of Holy Cross Church of Vero Beach and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Meriden.
Visitation will be held at John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home 88 East Main St. Meriden, Ct 06450, followed by a graveside service and Interment at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, 250 Gypsy Lane in Meriden, Conn.
