John Joseph Keenan, 88, of Vero Beach, passed away on Aug. 25, 2014, at Indian River Medical Center.
He is survived by his daughter Ann Keenan; son Richard Keenan; sisters Maryann Landon, and Eileen Kunreuther; two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Keenan was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and had been a resident of Vero Beach for five years coming from St. Cloud, Fla.
He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II.
Prior to retirement, he owned and operated Capital Supermarkets in Brooklyn, N.Y. He loved both dogs and birds. He was of the Catholic faith.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014 at Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce.
