INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Michael Paul Guin, of Vero Beach, was released on $10,000 bond on Thursday after police arrested him in connection with several local auto burglaries and charged him with felony dealing in stolen property.
According to the arrest warrant, a victim of an unsolved Aug. 13 auto burglary recognized her $3,000 worth of missing camera equipment listed in a Craigslist ad.
The woman said her camera and five lenses were posted in the Craigslist ad together. But those particular lenses were unique to her collection and are not usually sold with that particular camera.
Undercover detectives planned a meeting with Guin to look at the camera equipment but instead matched the serial numbers with those provided by the victim.
A warrant was filed for Guin’s arrest and he was booked into the Indian River County Jail on Aug. 27.
