Dyer Difference Award benefits Shop-with-a-Cop

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Dyer Chevrolet and Dyer Mazda Subaru are pleased to announce the 74th recipient of the Dyer Difference Award. This award salutes a non-profit organization in Indian River County that is truly making a difference in our community.

Dyer Chevrolet and Dyer Mazda Subaru presented the Dyer Difference Award along with a $3,000 check to July’s recipient: The Indian River County Sheriff’s Department, to help fund their Shop-with-a-Cop event.

Shop-with-a-Cop is a way for Law Enforcement Officers to give a great holiday to some children in Indian River County. The children are picked up at Sebastian City Hall by a school bus escorted by police cars to the Wal-Mart. Upon arriving, the officers, children and Wal-Mart employees will have a snack before shopping. The officer and child will shop until the $100 gift card is empty.

The Dyer Award helped fund the purchase of the gift cards for disadvantaged children of IRC. “It touches our heart to hear that our officers would take a child out shopping on their day off to help make the holidays great. We are glad to be a part,” Tatiana Dyer said.
