Tropical Storm Cristobal upgraded to hurricane

Tropical Storm Cristobal has been upgraded to Hurricane Cristobal, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The hurricane has maximum sustained winds of 75 mph, making it a category 1, according to authorities. 


Aug. 27 9:11 a.m. – A Tropical Storm has developed from Tropical Depression 4 moving northwestward near the southeastern Bahamas, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Tropical Storm Cristobal has a maximum sustained winds of 45 mph, according to authorities. The storm is not forecast to make landfall on Florida’s shores.
