Kevin Hamblin, 41, of Vero Beach, passed way on Aug. 17, 2014.
He is survived by his longtime companion Heather Mitchell and their two sons, Mitchell and Grant; mother and stepfather, Michelle and Bill Romano; father and stepmother, Kevin and Renne Hamblin; brothers Michael Hamblin, T.J. Sparks and Zach Cox; grandmothers, Sallie Piedmont and Jane Hamblin; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews from the Hamblin and Piedmont families.
Hamblin loved the outdoors, he was an accomplished chef and avid fisherman, and enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family. He was a very passionate and loving father, son, brother, and uncle.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association, in remembrance of Hamblin.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life event for Oct. 25. All friends and family are welcome to attend. This event will start at 2 p.m. with the spreading of his ashes at D.J. Wilcox Nature Area, (info available at http://floridahikes.com/djwilcox) just south of Vero Beach along the Indian River Lagoon, where he spent much of his time fishing.
Afterwards, everyone is invited to the home of Ellis & Teri Smith (8765 12th Street, Vero Beach) for the Celebration of Hamblin’s Life.
