Richard Muller, 76, of Vero Beach, passed away on Aug. 14, 2014.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years Jacqueline; daughters Nancy (John) Caterina, Cathleen (Larry) Muller-Reed and Jennifer (Mark) Ballard; granddaughters Carly Beals, Jennifer Lynn Caterina, Jessica Caterina and Madison Reed; brother Louis (Madeline) and sister Elizabeth Detlefsen; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother Robert (Madeline).
Muller was born in New York City, N.Y. on Jan. 6, 1938 to William and Grace Muller. Following graduation from Long Island’s Hofstra University, he began a career with the Central Intelligence Agency in 1963 and lived and worked at numerous locations in Europe, Asia and Latin America where he served with distinction as an Intelligence Officer.
He moved to Vero Beach following his retirement while continuing to serve in training positions for the Federal Government. He was a qualified pilot and a sailboat enthusiast, sailing out of Ft. Pierce for many years. He was also a very active player with the tennis community of Timber Ridge in Vero Beach.
A remembrance will be held from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at the Vero Beach Tennis Club at Timber Ridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rich’s name to Vero Beach Meals-On-Wheels, 694 14th Street Vero Beach, FL 32960, where he volunteered his services; or to VNA Hospice House, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
