James F. Murphy, 80, of Vero Beach, passed away on Aug. 9, 2014.
He is survived by sons, Joseph B. Murphy, Martin P. Murphy, Matthew K. Murphy, and Pat Murphy; daughter, Mary C. Murphy; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Joann Murphy.
Murphy was born Feb. 1, 1934, in Milwaukee, Wis. to James and Margaret Murphy. He was a resident of Vero Beach, for 18 years, coming from Wisconsin.
He graduated with a degree in journalism from Marquette University and started his career with Catholic Publications Hi-Time Magazine.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A Prayer Service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 15, at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
