Jay Rupert, 68, formerly of Vero Beach, passed away on July 30, 2014.
Rupert was born in Ft. Meade, Md., and was raised in Wilmington, Del., and Kennett Square, Penn. After spending a year sailing the Caribbean Islands, he moved to Vero Beach in the early 1990s and worked in several local restaurants.
Before moving to Palm Bay, he set out on a year’s tour of the US in his 30-foot Airstream with his companion pup, Yo. As he said, he completed his bucket list before he knew what one was.
