The historic Roseland Women’s Club held its ceremony to install its officers for the 2014-2015 season during the traditional spring luncheon at the clubhouse located along the St. Sebastian River.
The club was founded in the early 1920s and was instrumental in developing and preserving Roseland, just north of the city of Sebastian, as one of the oldest settlements in Indian River County.
One fundraiser is held each year, with the proceeds donated to several area charitable organizations. This year’s recipients include VNA Hospice, Safe Space, Shiloh Youth Ranch, Camp Haven, The Source and the Ecumenical Council.
Meetings often include special programs on topics of interest presented by a guest speaker. Holiday programs, a picnic in the park, field trips, musical presentations and high tea are other club events.
New members are welcome, and anyone interested in joining or visiting is welcome to contact Jackie James at 772-913-2182.
The new officers are Verna Moriera, President; Jackie James, Secretary; Wynne Carvey, Treasurer; Harriet Washer, Second Vice-President; and Dottie DeFazio, First Vice-President.
