Norma Ciola, 93, formerly of Vero Beach, passed away on Aug. 2, 2014.
She is survived by her nieces, Ann Rise, Susie Beale, Suzanne Tessier, and Mary Frances Martin; nephews, Eddie Richardson, Charles Evans, and Ricky Evans; 22 grand and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Emma Evans, Pauline White and Anita Richardson.
Ciola was born in Vero Beach and moved to Fort Pierce when she was 3-years-old. She graduated from St. Anastasia Catholic School in 1939 and was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church.
She worked in local businesses as a secretary until 1951 when she applied and was accepted into the Foreign Service Department of State. She served in Europe, South America, Canada, and Washington D.C. Upon her retirement in 1972, she worked for Communication Workers of America for 10 years. She also enjoyed many years of volunteer work.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anastasia Catholic School, 401 S. 33rd Street, Fort Pierce, FL 34947. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Aug. 8, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service.
