Vero Beach island home burglarized, suspect sought

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Police Department is investigating a residential burglary involving a large amount of money and jewelry that occurred in the 1600 block of Indian Bay Drive, south of the 17th Street bridge on the barrier island, according to authorities.

The burglary occurred on Sunday, Aug. 3, at approximately 1:30 p.m.

The suspect is said to be a 6-foot, young, skinny, black male, with short hair wearing a long sleeve blue and white shirt, according to police.

Witnesses told investigators the suspect got out of the passenger side of a pearl white Lexus SUV, which was parked with a four-door Cadillac outside the home, according to witness reports to police.
